Praise The Lord (Psalm 117)
Jered McKenna
This Sunday at Integrity we spent our time worshipping together as the body of Christ through singing songs that glorified our great God and proclaimed Jesus Christ as Lord.
Praise The Lord was a new song for us this week, but one that we will begin to do consistently at Integrity. The chorus of the song is taken straight from Psalm 117 while the verses reflect the greatness of our Almighty Creator and the salvation achieved through Christ’s work on the cross. When we sing songs together, our goal should be to sing songs that are saturated with The Word of God. In Praise The Lord, we directly sing God’s Word as well as rich truths about our sovereign God and his son Jesus. Spend time this week studying Psalm 117 and the lyrics from this great song- through studying the scriptures, my prayer is that your love and affection for Jesus Christ will grow.
extol him all you peoples,
for great is his love for us
Praise the Lord he is faithful
His love endures forever
and great is his love for us.
Sing a song of praise to God enthroned on high,
Bow before the King of the angels,
His mercy and His love, his justice will be known,
lift a song of praise to the Lord!
Boldly shout his praise for he has rescued us,
Sin and death no more can enslave us.
His beauty and his pow’r, displayed at Calvary,
lift a song of praise to the Lord!
