Become a Partner

what is ‘partnership’?

We recognize that no where in scripture is there a ‘joining’ or ‘membership’ of a church.

However, for practical functioning purposes of the church body, for accountability and to enforce church discipline, should it be needed, we found it necessary to create a formal process for being counted as part of our corporate church body. For those who desire to make Integrity Church their church home, we don’t offer typical ‘membership’. We have found that ‘membership’ implies something less permanent and tentative. Aside from that, to be frank, we just didn’t like the term ‘membership’. We instead, offer ‘partnership’. This is similar in function to traditional ‘membership’ in joining a church. However, we impress the need to partner with us in our mission to reach the city of Greenville with the Gospel.

What’s the process to become a ‘partner’?

Christians are to work within their particular church for the cause of the gospel. Therefore, church members are, in a sense, leaders and servants of the church who serve according to their abilities in accordance with Jesus’ command to love God and their neighbor. They must be trained and released to use their spiritual gifts in various ways so that they too are leading the church, behind the elders and deacons, as the priesthood of believers that Scripture speaks of throughout the New Testament” (Vintage Church, Mark Driscoll, 78).

The path to becoming a Partner is a big commitment but a simple process. It’s only 4 steps.

STEP ONE: INFORMATION

We’ll need your contact information, testimony of faith and beliefs about baptism.

STEP TWO: CLASS

The Partnership Class is a six week class that explains who we are, what we believe, and how we operate as a church, and provides an opportunity to get to know Integrity Church pastors and leaders. Check The City events page to find out when and where the Partnership Class meets.

Register for the class here.

STEP THREE: SIGN THE COVENANT

After you have completed step one and two, you’ll have the chance to read and digitally sign the partnership covenant.

STEP FOUR: CONVERSATION WITH YOUR LIFEGROUP LEADER

Being in a Lifegroup is important. It communicates that you understand the importance of community, accountability and that church for you is not just a Sunday event. The assumption is that your Lifegroup leader knows you well. Therefore, after you have completed the class and signed the covenant you’ll have a conversation with your Lifegroup leader about the partnership process. Why? This final step ensures you understand what it means to be a partner of Integrity Church.

After you’ve completed this final step you’ll officially be a partner of Integrity Church.
