Fulfillment Sermon Series

A Christmas series from the Old Testament

Everyone knows the story of Jesus coming to earth in human form and being born in a manger. However, many are unaware that this beautiful story is a fulfillment of prophecies of 100s of years before. Furthermore, many also do not realize how these prophecies actually impact our daily lives.  This series is for us to see the Christmas story through the lenses of redemptive history. We will hear the wonder of what had to happen in order for Christ to come and be the Savior to the World. We hope to accomplish this by looking at 3 Old Testament prophecies that were fulfilled with Christ.

Why We Chose This Series

Because of the nature of the December calendar, it is really difficult to start a series in a book of the Bible. For this reason we have chosen to do a short series on something that carries a Christmas theme. With that in mind we have chosen this series because it serves the purpose of communicating the theme of Christmas yet displaying the rich truths of the Gospel’s grand narrative.

As a church we are excited to look through the scriptures together for this 3 week series. We hope that you will be encouraged through the reminder that all that happened in the Old Testament was for Jesus to come. Christ is the one true Messiah and it is through his perfect life, death, and resurrection that we are able to have our souls redeemed.

Motter Strong | Adam & Megan

main image

Many of you may know Adam and Megan Motter. They have now been a part of the Integrity Church family for over 2 years now. Even if you don’t know who they are I promise you have benefited from their service. The love of Christ has motivated both of them to faithfully serve in behind-the-scenes roles. Adam has led the Set-Up team for over a year and Megan has served with the Hospitality Team. But perhaps the greatest impact they have had is in the relationships they have built within their Life Group (the Peckous Life Group) and others at Integrity. The Story Team even wrote about their story of life change, which you can read here, we encourage you to read it.

In April of this year, Megan spent a week feeling tired and not like herself. She went to the doctor a couple times and after some blood-work they realized her liver enzymes were not normal so she was immediately hospitalized. After testing, Megan was diagnosed with Auto Immune Hepatitis. This means her immune system is actually attacking her liver.

Megan has to be on Steroids now to force her body to stop attacking her liver. The hope was that after about 30 days of this they would be able to adjust her medication but Megan’s case has proven to be unique. Megan is part of the 10% of people where the medication does not work.

As a result of this disease and the medicine she has to be on, everyday tasks have become a challenge. Megan is very sick and this has become a massive financial burden for the Motter family due to the medical expenses.

Megan’s liver is failing and we are all praying and hoping for a transplant to be available soon. In the meantime, here are 2 ways you can help:

1) Give a Financial Gift

Adam and Megan Motter are being faced with increasing medical expenses. We can help them if we pull our financial resources together and give to them generously. Friends of the Motter’s have set up a GoFundMe page for the Motter’s and we encourage you to visit this link and give generously to them through this site. This is one of the best ways to serve them. A gift of any size goes along way!

Because of situations like this, we want you to also be aware that Integrity does have a benevolence fund you can give to by clicking here. Money from this fund is available to help covenant members who are in need of financial assistance.

2) Pray for Them

Please pray for Adam and Megan. Pray for Megan’s healing. Pray that they grow in love for God through this. Pray that God strengthens their hearts to better understand the love Christ has for them. Pray for their endurance in the faith as this path may become even harder.

On behalf of Integrity we do want to say thank you to everyone who contributes their time and money to help the Motter’s. They need love and action from us all during this challenging time.

Thank you.
